SUMMER STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
COOK’S HELPERS (3 people)
--Is under the supervision of the Food Service Director.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--Shall give full cooperation to the Food Service Director in preparing all meals.
--Shall follow the menu as directed by the Food Services Director.
--Although the exact duties may vary according to the wishes of the Food Services Director, the following is a list of the duties you may have during the summer’s work: wash pots, pans and utensils and shelve them; sweep and/or mop the kitchen floor; assist in cooking and making salads; put out cereal, juice, bread and other foods on the serving line; peel and cut carrots, celery, and potatoes; check food supplies and put away groceries; serve food; clean appliances, shelves, equipment and store rooms.
--Serve seconds after every lunch meal.
--Clean and keep pantry organized.
--Sweep and mop kitchen floor and hallway entry daily.
--At the end of each camp, take out mats and thoroughly clean with power washer.
-- Will supervise and ensure the proper use of the waterslide.
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc).
Waterfront PERSONNEL (5 people)
(Current A.R.C. Lifesaving Certificate required including CPR and First Aid)
--Is under the supervision of the Facilities Manager.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--Will supervise all waterfront activities pertaining to canoeing, peddle boating, kayaking, boating, tubing, and waterslide.
--Must be on duty during any such scheduled waterfront activities.
--Responsible to see that those riding in the boats or canoes have lifejackets on and properly fastened.
--Ask campers to leave the waterfront if they do not observe the waterfront rules for safety or equipment care.
--Will see to it that lifejackets, oars, paddles, and other equipment, when used, are not left lying around on the beach, but are returned to the boat house and stored properly.
--Responsible to see that equipment is in the boat house during all times other than the official waterfront usage hours.
--Responsible to keep boat house and waterfront clean and organized.
--See that the boats are ready for emergency use during the waterfront activities.
--Must have a spotter in the boat at all times.
--Help in dining hall, kitchen, and dishwasher room (before meals) when needed.
--Set tables according to the number of people served.
--Serve seconds after every breakfast meal.
--Sweep and mop dining room floor after each meal.
--Communicate waterfront policies with the leadership of each camp.
--Keep milk dispenser cleaned and filled.
--In charge of cleaning staff bathrooms (every other day) and activities bathrooms (everyday).
--Will help with all general maintenance and lawn care.
--Have a form of communication in the boat at all times (cell phone or walkie talkie).
--Assist with end of day clean up.
--Facilitate High Ropes Course, Low Ropes Course, & Climbing Wall
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc)
LIFEGUARDS (3 people)
(Current A.R.C. Lifesaving Certificate required including CPR and First Aid)
--Is under the supervision of the Facilities Manager.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--Help in keeping the waterfront and boat house clean and in order.
-- Whenever there are swimmers in the water, lifeguards must be on the lifeguard stands.
--Teach campers to swim and water safety instructions as necessary in each camp session.
--Guard all those who are using water for swimming, using the Buddy System to enhance safety and control.
--Will see to it that life jackets, oars, paddles, and other equipment are not left lying around on the beach, but are returned to the boat house and stored properly.
--Will keep beach area clean by picking up trash and lost and found items and placing them in their proper places.
--Check all equipment daily for safety and repairs.
--Ask the campers to leave the waterfront if they do not observe the waterfront rules or if they misuse equipment.
--When life guarding at the waterfront he/she must have a whistle.
--Have a form of communication with them at all times (cell phone or walkie-talkie).
--Will serve seconds at each supper meal.
--Wash dishes after each meal following the written instructions as specified by the State Health Department and keep dishwasher room clean.
--At the end of each camp, take out mats and scrub both the mats and dishwasher room floor.
--In charge of daily cleaning ALL bathrooms (sweep, mop, clean toilets, spray shower walls and curtains, etc).
--Will assist in end of the day clean up.
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc).
BOOK STORE/CANDY STORE/COFFEE HOUSE MANAGER (2 person)
--Is under the supervision of the Program Director.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--In charge of stocking book store, candy store, & coffee house items.
--In charge of scheduling staff for working in book store and candy store.
--In charge of keeping the book store, candy store, and coffee house clean.
--Complete inventory of book store, candy store, and coffee house at the end of the camping season.
--Complete inventory of all paper products, chemicals, etc. at the end of every week and give to Facilities Manager.
--Will assist in the kitchen when needed.
--Will water and take care of trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.
--Will assist in some office duties such as registration data entry.
--Will serve seconds at each lunch meal.
--Will assist in end of the day clean up.
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc).
DINING ROOM HOST OR HOSTESS (1 person)
--Is under the supervision of the Food Service Director.
--Keep the Dining Room neat and clean (dust window sills, clean windows).
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--See that enough trays and silverware are available at the beginning of the serving line.
--See that water and dish rags for wiping tables are ready for the campers at the end of the meal.
--Keep milk dispenser full and clean.
--Be available at meal times to check tables, clean up spills.
--Wipe off the dining hall tables; give direction in the dining hall area.
--Clean the conference room, entryways and hallways of dining hall and office complex. (dust, mop, and vacuum).
--Keep the cement outside of dining hall swept, the mats and doors.
--Put out cereal, make juice, coffee, Kool Aid or any other drinks.
--Do the camp laundry and keep the laundry room clean and organized (sweep and mop daily).
--Keep the following containers maintained when needed: salt, pepper, butter, napkins.
--Will clean and maintain mop room and hang out wet mop heads daily, and wash mop heads weekly.
--Clean daily dining hall bathrooms (sweep, mop, clean toilets, spray walls and curtains, etc.)
--In charge of distributing mail to campers.
--Inform campers and staff as to Dining Room procedures and policies.
--Will assist in end of the day clean up.
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc.)
Sound/Video Tech (1 person)
--Is under the supervision of the Executive Director/Program Director.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--Will assist in photography, video/sound needs of the camp.
--Will supervise and ensure the proper use of the waterslide.
--Will supervise all waterfront activities pertaining to canoeing, paddle boating, kayaking, boating, tubing, and wakeboarding.
--Responsible to see that those riding in the boats or canoes have lifejackets on and properly fastened.

PROGRAM ASSISTANT (1 person)
--Is under the supervision of the Program Director.
--Will attend all staff meetings.
--Help Program Director with preparation for NAB Camps (crafts, projects, rec. games, etc.)
--During NAB Camps will lead games, facilitate crafts, and help Program Director with other needs.
--Help with office duties such as data entry.
--Will work in the coffee shop when needed.
--Will serve seconds after every lunch meal.
--Help on waterfront if needed.
--Help in dining hall, kitchen, and dishwasher room when needed.
--Sweep/mop dining room floor daily.
--Assist with end of day cleaning.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc.)
STAFF COUNSELOR(8 people)
--Is under the supervision of the Lead Counselors and Program Director.
--Counselor is responsible for day and night supervision of camper in a cabin of 8-11 campers.
--Counselor is responsible to facilitate nightly devotions.
--Counselor is responsible to carry-out activities determined by the Camp Director and encourage camper involvement.
--Counselor will mentor camper in spiritual growth during the week of camp.
--Counseling requires someone that finds enjoyment through spending an extensive amount of time with kids and is committed to their spiritual growth.
--A counselor should be at least 20 years of age.
--They must be able to handle difficult situations such as discipline problems and homesickness.
--Will serve seconds during non-NAB camps and NAB Family Camps.
--Living quarters will be assigned by the Program Director.
--Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team (yard work, painting, bookstore, candy store, clerical, etc.).
LEAD COUNSELOR(2 people)
--Will communicate with the Program Director regarding the counselors for the week of camp.
--Will assign cabins for counselors and camper with the assistance of the Program Director.
--Will conduct the counselor training for the appropriate camp at 12:30pm on the first day of camp.
--Will oversee projects with paid counselors during none NAB camps.
--Will oversee the male/female counselors at camp.
--Will set up and assist with registration during the first day of camp.
--Will communicate with the Program Director to receive the list for each cabin and for each counselor.
--Will call any campers who are registered and have not shown up at camp after registration has been completed.
--Will attend all counselor/staff meetings per the Director of the camp.
--Will be a resource to all male/female counselors.
--All campers leaving the campus will be communicated to the Lead Counselor.
--Will discipline counselors and campers if needed – will confer with Executive Director and Program Director.
--Will be in charge of locking and unlocking the dorms each day.
--Will insure the campers follow the camp Dress Code Policy.
--Will assist in monitoring visitors on the campus and implement Wristband Policy.
--Will explain and implement the bank system during Junior and Intermediate Camp.
--Will assist Camp Director in other assigned duties – end of week clean up.
--Will insure camp forms are filled out properly and turned into the camp office. Forms include; Confidential Report Form, Incident Report Form, Accident Report Form, Camper Leaving Campus Form, Camper Leaving Early Form, Maintenance Log, and Evaluation Report Form.
