Why be on OUR Summer Staff?
Crystal Springs is quite unique when it comes to summer staff! I bet if you asked each summer staff over the past 70 years, they would all say the same thing – “When you are here, you are family!” You might arrive as a stranger but after a summer out here, family is the only way to describe what you experienced! And the best part is, family is always there! No matter where you find yourself after working at Crystal Springs, this place – it will always be your second home!
What to Expect....
- Everyday starts out with morning devotions & prayer time.
- Race to the kitchen so you can serve those cinnamon & caramel rolls to the campers!
- Camp Projects are the perfect time to get into deep theological conversations with other summer staff.
- Enjoy weekly Bible Study with a side of “Tim Thoughts.”
- Stay up too late, get up super early, all while serving others for the Glory of God.
- Help us continue to build God’s Kingdom one heart at a time at Crystal Springs!
Cook's Helpers
Meal Time…..Three times a day the dining hall fills up with hungry campers. You can help create an atmosphere where fellowship happens around the tables with great tasting food! Although being in the kitchen is a lot of work, the work is always fun alongside other staff. Many memories, laughs, and inside jokes find their origin in the Camp Kitchen!
Dining Room Host or Hostess
If you love to host and entertain (with some cleaning on the side), then grab the mic in the dining hall and help our campers experience a fantastic time while they are enjoying their meal! As you are walking up and down the aisles filling pitchers, helping a camper clean up a spill, or choosing a song to sing for a package – YOU are the face of the summer staff to these campers!
Lifeguards
The swimming area is buzzing with excitement every afternoon! Help keep the campers safe while they take a flying bounce off the blob, laugh on the lily pads, or have a little friendly competition on the raft! It won’t all be soaking up the sun & keeping campers safe; there will be some dish washing & bathroom cleaning along the way!
Waterfront
How would you like to spend every sunny afternoon driving boats and giving campers a thrilling ride? Every afternoon the campers can hardly wait for free time down at the lake! Help them experience the fun of Crystal Springs Lake by getting the kayaks & canoes ready, keeping the boathouse clean, and driving the boats for some summer fun! Thrown into the mix will be some exciting adventures working alongside our Maintenance Team.
Sound/Video Tech.
Chapel time is go time for you! Getting the music pumping while 230 campers scramble into the chapel chairs is where your job begins. You will work with worship bands, speakers & their notes or crazy requests, and campers will flock to you to get their pictures on the screen. There is a lot of responsibility, but so much fun can be had in this position!
Program Assistants
If you like to make things more complicated then they need to be, then look no further than the programming team! This job requires creativity, teamwork, insane amounts of coloring/painting/cutting/tracing/etc., and many late nights. However, it is so rewarding to see the campers enjoy your games and ask to play them again next year!
General Maintenance
After the summer you can add to your resume, Jack of all trades! Although most of your time will be spent taking care of the grounds, you will also have many opportunities to work alongside the Waterfront & Maintenance Team.
Lead Counselors
If you are looking to grow in your leadership skills (& you are 21 or older), this is one of the best positions for you! Not only will you learn to lead, but you will quickly realize that the marks of a leader are servant hands, a humble attitude, & a gentle heart. This position has big shoes to fill; you will find yourself in charge of all the counselors and campers for the week of camp. There will be times of laughter, homesick tears, and some unruly campers – all of these give you the opportunity to show the truth, love, and joy of Jesus Christ.
Counselors
Ready for no personal space!?!?! Once the campers arrive, you are in charge of their week of camp! You will be able to laugh & play, listen & give Godly advice, lead devotions & nightly prayers for many campers. You will be exhausted, but there is nothing more rewarding than comforting a homesick camper, listening to their life story, or sharing the Gospel with an unbeliever!
